What does the Bible say about Abortion?

Abortion, as we know it today, may have not been commonplace in biblical days. Regardless, there were ways people could hurt or even kill an unborn child. God knew this, so he put forth laws in the bible to protect unborn children from violence.

Is abortion wrong? If it is how do we know?

Abortion, as we know it today, may have not been commonplace in biblical days. Regardless, there were ways people could hurt or even kill an unborn child. God knew this, so he put forth laws in the bible to protect unborn children from violence.

The following verse is an example of the Bible protecting the unborn:

Exodus 21

22 “If men fight, and hurt a woman with child, so that she gives birth prematurely, yet no harm follows, he shall surely be punished accordingly as the woman’s husband imposes on him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. 23 But if any harm follows, then you shall give life for life, 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

(NOTE: Any verse that calls for the death penalty is left for the governing officials and justice system to carry out. No one should ever take the law and the death penalty into their own hands, to do so would result in murder, not justice.)

This verse illustrates how God instructs the government to give an unborn child the same legal protection as an adult. When harm falls upon an unborn child, the child was important enough to warrant legal action against the guilty man.

It is the hope of CRN that everyone would stand against abortion in any case. Please, do your part to stand against abortion. Please visit, AmericanRightToLife.org/ more information and ways you can help.
