Christian Ministries around the country have made Intelligent Design a popular theory among believers. However, this enthusiasm is not shared within the scientific community.
It is the general consensus among scientists that Intelligent Design is not science! Is this true?
Is Intelligent Design(ID) a good idea even for Christians to believe? Could it one day become accepted by science and then backfire on us?
We wanted to take a stab at the debate and shed some new light on the subject. This article by CRN explores some of the issues surrounding ID.

Importance of Faith
Poor Job. He lived in a time where God seemed to do very little, and when the times got tough, he had one really big question.
"Where is God?"
The questions poured from his mouth, and friends near by seemed to have no answer.
It is a true story from the Bible. Job was a rich man with a big family and many children. They wanted for nothing, and he sacrificed to God regularly. Not only did he sacrifice for his sins, but he would do extra to cleans the sins of his children, just in case.
Job believed nothing would ever go wrong for him. He was righteous, he had God on his side, he had this big family to keep him company. He even went the extra mile with God by sacrificing more than needed. Why would anything go wrong?
But it did. His whole world feel apart. Bad weather and earthquakes took out all his riches and killed all of his children in one day. It was a test, spawned by Satan himself, to find out if Job was righteous out of wealth or out of character.
Job was destroyed. And just when he thought things couldn't get worst, he got sick. And God was silent. Job felt alone and abandoned. But to add insult to injury, his close friends began to blame Job for his own hardships. He was called sinful, greedy, and neglectful. An innocent man, lost his riches, his family, his health, and his respect.
So what did he do? How did he handle the situation? Was he strong? Was he full of faith? At first, he was. But as the hours turned to night, and days into weeks, he was truly shaken. He was on the verge of losing faith.
That is so like many of us today. When we see the hardships we question our faith and wonder where God is. Why doesn't he heal, where is the easy life? Why doesn't he return and show his face when we need him most?
Job even wondered what the point is. Listen to his words against God:
Job 19
6 Know then that God has wronged me,
And has surrounded me with His net.
7 “If I cry out concerning wrong, I am not heard.
If I cry aloud, there is no justice.
8 He has fenced up my way, so that I cannot pass;
And He has set darkness in my paths.
9 He has stripped me of my glory,
And taken the crown from my head.
10 He breaks me down on every side,
And I am gone;
My hope He has uprooted like a tree.
11 He has also kindled His wrath against me,
And He counts me as one of His enemies.
Job 30
19 He has cast me into the mire,
And I have become like dust and ashes.
20 “I cry out to You, but You do not answer me;
I stand up, and You regard me.
21 But You have become cruel to me;
With the strength of Your hand You oppose me.
22 You lift me up to the wind and cause me to ride on it;
You spoil my success.
23 For I know that You will bring me to death,
And to the house appointed for all living.
Even though deep down he knew God was there, nothing made since. He felt attacked by God, even though behind the scenes it was the devil who brought harm.
How should Job have handled himself? Faith. It is easier said than done, but let's think about it.
If Job were to go on the evidence and forsake it for faith, he would be compelled to believe God was against him. That is what Job did too. He looked around at the injustice of the world and reckoned that it came from God. Then he applied that to himself. He believed God was punishing him.
To make things worst, Job knew he was righteous. He did far more than was expected, yet still he was lowered to dust and ashes just like what should happen to a sinner. The evidence seems to stack against God.
Yet God asks us all that we simply trust him. Trust he is there, trust he is good, and trust he upholds justice. Job was forsaking that trust and going on evidence, and confusing God's works for Satan's.
Not all of Job's friends were accusing him wrongly. He had one friend who looked beyond the evidence and put things in perspective through faith. His name was Elihu. Have a look at his words:
Job 34
7 What man is like Job,
Who drinks scorn like water,
8 Who goes in company with the workers of iniquity,
And walks with wicked men?
9 For he has said, ‘It profits a man nothing
That he should delight in God.’
10 “ Therefore listen to me, you men of understanding:
Far be it from God to do wickedness,
And from the Almighty to commit iniquity.
11 For He repays man according to his work,
And makes man to find a reward according to his way.
12 Surely God will never do wickedly,
Nor will the Almighty pervert justice.
Job 35
13 Surely God will not listen to empty talk,
Nor will the Almighty regard it.
14 Although you say you do not see Him,
Yet justice is before Him, and you must wait for Him.
15 And now, because He has not punished in His anger,
Nor taken much notice of folly,
16 Therefore Job opens his mouth in vain;
He multiplies words without knowledge.
Job 36
15 He delivers the poor in their affliction,
And opens their ears in oppression.
16 “ Indeed He would have brought you out of dire distress,
Into a broad place where there is no restraint;
And what is set on your table would be full of richness.
17 But you are filled with the judgment due the wicked;
Judgment and justice take hold of you.
What a hard lesson to hear. Elihu did not accuse him of deserving what happened, but still pointed out how what happened caused him to doubt God. What was his answer? To wait for God to come through, in faith. Even though he was oppressed, god would deliver him.
After Elihu finished speaking to Job, God appeared! Job demanded evidence, he got it. However, things didn't go the way he expected. For as many complaints as he had against God, Job was in no place to judge God. As it turned out, the evidence had turned against him, and Job was guilty of sin after all. His sin wasn't what caused hardships, but his hardships caused him to sin.
God asked Job, "Would you indeed annul My judgment? Would you condemn Me that you may be justified?" (Job 40:8)
If Job had only looked through the eyes of faith upon God. He would have realized that God doesn't punish the righteous. He would have understood that God was still there waiting to free him from oppression because God loves us all.
When Job demanded evidence, it was more than he bargained for. Not only did the evidence prove Job was wrong about God, it proved Job was a sinner. So Job finally saw his error and said, "I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You. Therefore I abhor myself, And repent in dust and ashes." (Job 42:5,6)
God forgave Job of this sin. Not only did he forgive him, he restored him even though he blasphemed! Job had more riches, family, and respect than ever before. Job's health was restored and he lived a very long, full life.
Job's story had a happy ending. What about ours? What can we learn from Job? From the book of Job, we see a good man who lost it all. When he did, it shook his faith. The apparent evidence was stronger than his faith, and he beat himself up over it.
So let faith rule in our lives. Let faith be the evidence for God, and let faith show us his righteousness. When the hard times come, remember God is righteous no matter how things may appear.
Do not forsake him, do not deny he is there, because one day he will appear to us all in a much bigger way than he appeared to Job. Don't let that proof disagree with your take on the evidence. Faith in God will help us get through. And his grace will bring us out of the hard times.
Faith is what connects us to God. We should keep it that way, not using it as a means to get whatever we want covet. Holding to it even unto death, where we will need it no more. Faith was never meant to be used as leverage against God for selfish gain (Even though we may think our prayers are righteous, God may have a higher reason for not answering. We should trust that God knows what to do better than us.). Instead, let faith bring you closer to God. Let it be all the evidence you need, not the "money for a miracle".
Witch Hunt on Creationists
Is there a ideological witch hunt in today's world? Instead of witches, is the mainstream machine hunting christian creationists?
A new movie staring Ben Stein explores this issue. It is scheduled to come out this spring, be sure to watch it with a skeptical friend.
Christians on Global Warming
I know, what you are thinking... Isn't this is a Christian site? Why is this video about Global Warming on here? Aren't Christians skeptical about global warming?
It is true. I, for one, am not afraid of global warming. However, I admit that I do not have all the answers. Even though I am not worried about impending doom, I believe we should push for cleaner energy and become more efficient at utilizing our resources.
Doing so will put destiny in our own hands, leave us less dependent on others, and will result in more technology. It will also end the debate all together and give us better things to fight about.
I also like the wisdom used in this video. When faced with reasonable uncertainty we should choose a path with the least risk. So I decided to share it with all of you. If I were to add to the reasoning, I would submit you could do a chart weighing the positive effects and find more benefits in action.
So does this mean I think we should all vote for Hillary? No. The president is powerless without Congress, the House, and the Constitution. We elect all of these people. If we demand change, it is highly likely to happen.
That said, I support change. The reason is not because I fear global warming, but rather I see wisdom and benefits in more efficient energy sources and waste management.
Who Does Prosperity Gospel Really Help?
Late at night as you watch TV you may find "men of God" preaching about faith giving. The deal usually goes like this: if you give to their ministry in faith, God will reward you 10 fold. Then to prove to you that it works, they will show people who have given and were blessed.
Is it true? ABCNews.com has filed an AP report about how this "theology" has fallen under scrutiny.
The CRN short answer is "No, the prosperity gospel is a perversion of scripture." It is a fact of this life that generous christians can be poor in earthly wealth. Furthermore it causes people to question their faith when the blessings don't come.
This AP article speaks of one Cindy Fleenor who gave hundreds of dollars to prosperity ministries and was never blessed. Instead, she blamed herself and her faith. Why did she blame herself? Because the prosperity message told her it was her fault. It is their escape clause that makes it impossible to place blame on anyone but the giver. "We can't be wrong, it must be you, your faith is weak," goes the typical rhetorical response.
Yet with the same, "take it by faith," message these ministers set out to "prove" that their message is true with testimonials from others who claim it works. If we are to give by faith, why would they need proof that it works? Doesn't proof defeat the purpose of faith?
Prosperity Gospel preachers rarely evangelize sinners, they rarely stand against sin and proclaim the need for Christ. Christ asks "For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?" (Matthew 16:26)
What good are riches if you are lost? Do you think God will accept US currency in heaven? Earthly goods are no good in heaven because we cannot take it with us. If our souls are lost, and our riches died with our bodies, how can we buy back our souls? What can we give in exchange for our lost souls?
Prosperity Gospel gives no answer. Its ministers rarely care where you go when you die, so long as you were rich on earth before you died. What good is 80 years of a good life compared to an eternity of sorrow?
Why don't they answer these questions on a regular basis? Why does 99.9% of the telecast cater to faith giving and earthly prosperity, and so little about eternal life and worshiping God? The reason is because they do not really care about eternity, and the more we give, the more they can spend.
While it is true that prosperity is not a sin, the old saying, "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;"(Luke 12:48) is still true. Instead "...lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal."(Matthew 6:19,20) Yet so few prosperity preachers tell us to store up treasures in heaven. Instead, it is all about getting the treasures on earth, treasures which are doomed to fade away upon death.
Healthy giving comes from the heart. We should never give just so we will get something from God in return, and at the same time expect God to shine down on us. Prosperity Gospel's sole message "is giving so you can get back." Yet scripture tells us to give because we want to.
Exodus 25:2b
...From everyone who gives it willingly with his heart you shall take My offering.
God hates offerings made for personal gain. Such a gift is meaningless if it was only given in hopes that it would come back.
He does not need your money, anyway. What does God need that he can't manifest? The only people who require money are men like you and me. Instead, God desires your heart, not your money.
Psalm 51:16-17
16 For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it;You do not delight in burnt offering. 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart- These, O God, You will not despise.
Hosea 6:6
For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, And the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
Are you starting to see? God does not desire your money, he desires your heart!
Romans 12:1,2
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
So where does monitory giving come to play?
Romans 12:8b
...he who gives, with liberality; ....
Romans 12 speaks so much about using our gifts to bless each other through God! Not all of us are gifted with money, we each have our own gift. If we are gifted with money, we are to give freely to those who are in need. If we are gifted in other areas, we should give freely of those gifts.
Romans 12:10-13
10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.
It is good to give to charity and gospel preaching ministries. Yet in doing so, you are storing up for you self treasures in heaven. However, give because you are willing to give, not because you need a blessing. Otherwise, your gift is in vain.
Merry Christmas 2007!
ChristianRevolution.net wishes everyone a merry Christmas!
The CRN Library has a new message about unanswered prayers. Most Christians are under the impression that prayer is a request line to God that will always result in an answer. And with this belief we tell others how God is on stand by, leading them to have high expectations towards an answer.
However, we learn a hard lesson, that prayer requests go unanswered. We have ministers telling their congregation "God did answer your prayer," while in reality the answer was "no." Even unselfish and well meaning prayers seem to be stuck in que. Why is this? We are told God is listening, but what gives?
If you are like me, you have heard a lot of reasons, but few ever really make since. Therefore, it is my hope this message on unanswered prayers might help you understand what is going on.
Alan Keyes for President?
ChristianRevolution.net is not a very political website. It is aimed at the promotion of Christ via new tactics. However, I felt compelled to plug Alan Keyes. You may not know who he is as he has been blackballed from various media outlets. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to make you aware of him.

A few days ago CRN Posted a news article about the fight against AIDS in Africa. While AIDS is a problem here too, an even bigger epidemic exists. Abortion. But unlike AIDS, we know the cure. It is us! Fighting for what is right.
ChristianRevolution.net recently went through a rough transition to a new server. For whatever reason, our original hosting company became unreachable and stopped billing CRN. Despite the best efforts to make payment online or via phone, CRN was forced to find a new home on the internet.
During that transition, our prior host suspended the original domain name right before the transition from Christian-Revolution.net to ChristianRevolution.net was finalized.
But we now have control of all the CRN domains, a nice server, and are ready to continue building up the site.
I hope these problems are behind us, and we can continue to provide revolutionary tools to point others to God through Christ. We could always use your help by linking to CRN.

Psalm 57 (ASV)
For the Chief Musician; set to Al-tash-heth. A Psalm of David. Michtam; when he fled from Saul, in the cave.
1 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me; For my soul taketh refuge in thee: Yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I take refuge, Until these calamities be overpast.
2 I will cry unto God Most High, Unto God that performeth all things for me.
3 He will send from heaven, and save me, When he that would swallow me up reproacheth; Selah God will send forth his lovingkindness and his truth.
4 My soul is among lions; I lie among them that are set on fire, Even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, And their tongue a sharp sword.
5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; Let thy glory be above all the earth.
6 They have prepared a net for my steps; My soul is bowed down: They have digged a pit before me; They are fallen into the midst thereof themselves. Selah
7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing, yea, I will sing praises.
8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake right early.
9 I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the peoples: I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.
10 For thy lovingkindness is great unto the heavens, And thy truth unto the skies.
11 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; Let thy glory be above all the earth.

Thousand Foot Krutch - Absolute
Absolute by Thousand Foot Krutch, is a powerful song about preaching truth. All to often Christians preach what they do not understand. They place their trusts in what their minister thinks and never go back to get the facts on their own. Before you say it, be sure you are speaking the truth.
Recently the Supreme Court ruled to ban partial birth abortions. Many have praised the Supreme Court ruling, but few actually have read it. The sad truth is those who praise the ruling know very little about it. Tragically, instead of banning late term abortions, the ruling writes into law other methods of abortion! Listen to the audio above to get more information on the ruling.
The ruling states the late term baby may be killed if:
he/she is only removed up to the waist before being killed.
he/she remains in the womb may be made to bleed to death via amputation of extremities
the baby slips out of the womb because the mother is dilated enough, the baby may be stabbed in the back of the neck inducing death.

A New Faith Boost
There is a new article in the Faith Boost Section, titled "Is God the 'Bad Guy'". It is aimed at people who lost faith because they let others misrepresent the Bible. It touches on the reason for Hell, and tries to show how God is loving in spite of hell's existence.

Partial Birth Abortion Ban - Pointless
Was the recent ban on partial birth abortion a good thing? While at face value it may seem so, limiting one method of abortion does not mean there aren't other methods that can still be deployed at this late stage in pregnancy. Why did the christian leaders fight so hard to ban only one form of abortion, leaving the door wide open for every other kind?

The Truth About Job
So may people misunderstand the story about Job, and it is time the truth gets out. The point of the Book of Job is actually this: Do not speak things about God that you don't understand.
People think Job is the righteous one in the book. They see his friends rebuke him over nothing. Job says again and again how innocent he is. So naturally people get that in their head and think it's right.
But that isn't the end of the story. Job had another friend, named Elihu, who harshly rebuked Job. Elihu never said Job was being punished, instead, he took up for God. He told Job that God wouldn't punish an innocent man, and he told Job to stop accusing God of causing the hardships.
All along Job said he was innocent, but then he would add "How can God do this to me, what benefit is there in being righteous?" And this angered Elihu. Job sinned. After Elihu rebuked Job, God steps in.
God REALLY lets Job have it. "Who are you to tell everyone what I do? Do you know how I work? Do you have My Power? You speak words you do not understand."
And Job repents.
No one seems to get this. It frustrates me, it shows how people just skim over the word of God and then talk about it like they really read it.
CRN has added a new Faith Boost for former believers who have lost their faith due to doctrinal issues. Theologies like Calvinism have turned many over to doubt because it is hard to see God as loving when he also predestines people to go to Hell. This Faith Boost is an internet audio show from KGOV Radio. Bob Enyart discusses Christianity with an Atheist who lost his way. I am sure many people can relate to him and use the information found in this show.
We have an easy way to share Faith Boosts via our "Send to a Friend" link located at the top of each Faith Boost series. If you know anyone who might benefit from listening to a Faith Boost, just use the link located at the top of that Faith Boost's page.
Explanation of Open Theism
People who are interested in Open Theism should know that it is not blaspheming God. It is not blasphemy to say God does not know the future. Scripture does show God has some future knowledge, but our human tendencies take the future knowledge he has and assume he has more than he says he does.
The Bible doesn't say anywhere he has total and complete future knowledge of every event. Scripture does say he has some future knowledge, but it not right to add to scripture's account and say that "some" means "all". Instead, we should say "some" means "some."
Future Knowledge is not necessary for God to be in control. He at any moment could do anything with creation he wished to do, so even without future knowledge, God is still extremely powerful, and "extremely" is an understatement.
Love requires freedom. If a man loves a woman, he doesn't force her to love him back by trapping her. Love must be allow freedom. If God is love, he wouldn't foreordain every single last thing in the world. Even though God does make future plans, he does not make every single thing he plans come about if he sees fit.
Take Jonah. Sent to prophesy that Nineveh would be destroyed in 40 days. God told him to go. But 40 days later, God didn't fulfill the prophecy. He instead changed his mind because the people changed their hearts. Had the future really been known, God would have known he wasn't going to destroy the city in 40 days and would not have said he would.
If you would like to discuss Open Theism, check out this discussion forum at Theology Online.com
You may also read more about it in the Fate or Freewill Study Section of this site.
The Song section of CRN is growing all the time. It is hard to find really good Christian Music with an awesome message. CRN hopes you enjoy the selection of songs we have. We provide you with links to listen to every song online. Sometimes we even find a music video for even more entertainment that blesses.
The latest addition to our library of music is "I'm Not Alright" by Sanctus Real. You should watch the video and listen to the words. It is a perfect example of a new sound and a great message. You can find a link to the lyrics while you listen. You can even be directed to where to download the song from iTunes (CRN makes no money if you buy this song, just so you know, all proceeds go to iTunes not us).
Here is a sample of the lyrics:
And when I'm open wide with nothing left to cling to
Only You are there to lead me on
'cuz honestly, I'm not that strong
I'm not alright- I'm broken inside, broken inside
and all I go thru- it leads me to You, it leads me to You
Isn't it great to hear that we can always go to God when we are broken inside? Check out the song!
